2026 Job Task Analysis Task Force Application

As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), we understand that you are passionate about this profession.

That’s why we need your help with the 2026 Job Task Analysis Study.

We are always working to improve our examination, and we’re excited to announce that the CRCE will be undergoing updates in 2026 to make sure the examination reflects the latest content, knowledge and skills and remains relevant and representative of the field. We are looking for CRCs to be a part of the process of updating this examination by serving as subject matter experts (SME) on the Job Task Analysis study.

The development and maintenance of certification exams is one of the most important tasks undertaken by CRCC. Several important stages are involved in the creation of a credible certification exam, including job/task analysis (JTA), item development and assessment, exam specifications, exam construction and review, and cut score determination. To ensure that the CRC exam accurately represents the changing field, CRCC conducts a JTA every five years.

We are seeking 12-15 qualified practitioners to participate in this activity.

Description of Activities

Participants will receive, by e-mail, a draft description of the knowledge bases required to perform the roles and functions of CRCs. Each participant will engage in a process of reviewing and making recommendations about the document. A set of instructions will be provided.

Selection Process

It is essential to ensure diversity in the composition of the participant group. To serve as an SME, you must hold the CRC certification. Demographic categories that will be considered in the selection process are gender, education, age, ethnicity, and disability, with an emphasis on work setting. Notification of selection will be sent by December 30, 2025.
