Join us in Celebrating 50 Years of Rehabilitation Counseling Certification Excellence
The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) is celebrating its 50th anniversary, marking half a century of dedication to enhancing the quality of services provided to individuals with disabilities. Over the past five decades, CRCC has established and upheld the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential, which has become a benchmark of excellence in the field. This milestone celebration is not only a recognition of the CRC credential’s impact but also a tribute to the unwavering commitment of volunteers, staff, and Certified Rehabilitation Counselors. These professionals have tirelessly worked to empower and advocate for individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal and professional goals.
To honor this momentous occasion, CRCC plants to celebrate the contributions of its community all year long. These include special recognition for long-serving volunteers and staff, professional development opportunities for CRCs, and a commemorative campaign highlighting success stories from the field. Through these activities, the CRCC aims to underscore the significant progress made over the past 50 years and inspire continued excellence and advocacy in rehabilitation counseling. The anniversary serves as a reminder of the pivotal role that Certified Rehabilitation Counselors play in fostering inclusivity and accessibility, reflecting the organization’s enduring mission and vision for the future.
CRCC is Seeking Your Story for its 50th Anniversary Celebration
CRCC is celebrating 50 years of rehabilitation counseling certification excellence this year, and we couldn’t do it without you.
As we continue to heighten public awareness of this crucial profession, your stories will highlight the inspiring contributions you make while serving individuals with disabilities. That’s why we’re seeking your story as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
Being a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and/or a Certified Vocational Evaluator Specialist is more than a job or a passion. It’s a journey—one that involves making meaningful contributions to the lives of individuals with disabilities every step of the way. CRCs working with clients on their professional and personal goals can yield many inspirational success stories.
Stories are powerful, from both clients and the CRCs providing them services.
Hearing how CRCs impact the disability community is one of the most influential ways we have to build awareness and appreciation for the profession. With these stories, we’ll be able to advocate for employers to hire CRCs, advocate to states for CRC Exam parity for licensure, and share with lawmakers and the media how impactful CRCs are to the lives of individuals with disabilities. Behind every one of these stories is a CRC, and that’s where you come in.
We’re asking you to write a testimonial of 1000 words or less about your journey, including why you wanted to pursue this profession and why you stay certified as a CRC. For many, videos are even more engaging, so we’re also inviting you to record yourself sharing your story on your phone, tablet, or computer. With every written or video submission, we also ask that you submit a picture of yourself.
Because client stories are the most transformative testimonies we have to share with policymakers, employers, and the media, we are also seeking your assistance in collecting first-hand accounts of the impact of CRC services. If you have a client who would like to share a story about the impact your services as a CRC have made on them, invite them to participate.
Submissions may be emailed to marketing@crccertification.com.
By submitting a story, you’re providing us permission to share your journey in our conversations with media outreach, employers, and companies we believe should be hiring CRCs for their teams.
Thanks again for all you do. We look forward to receiving your stories!
Sincerely,
The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification
