Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
This itinerant position carries out a comprehensive range of vocational rehabilitation counseling services to a diverse population of individuals who are low vision or blind, including students in transition and adults pursuing training and employment within an assigned geographic area. The professional will work with vocational rehabilitation (VR) customers, businesses, community partners, and service providers to facilitate competitive integrated employment (CIE) that provides substantial gainful activity for the customer with opportunities for advancement. The professional will develop referral sources for the territory assigned and will be responsible for maintaining or increasing their caseload as determined by their supervisor. The professional will develop individualized plans for employment (IPEs) using SMART goals, engaging the customer in a timely manner, adequately documenting the customer journey, and entering key data elements accurately, including gathering source documentation as appropriate. The professional in this role must be familiar with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and its implementing regulations (the Rehab Act) and adhere to and apply BSBP policy and procedure.

VR Counselor
The WWRC Vocational Services Department is looking for a qualified individual to serve as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. In partnership with the rehabilitation team assigned to each VR consumer, the WWRC rehabilitation counselor will be accountable for planning, developing, implementing, and managing vocationally focused, comprehensive services for consumers with disabilities attending WWRC and leading an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program team for each consumer served. The position is responsible for assisting individuals with physical, mental, developmental, or emotional disabilities enter into competitive employment. The position works with clients to overcome or manage the personal, social, or psychological effects of disabilities on employment. The position requires individuals to travel for itinerary points and community outreach. Minimum Qualifications The formal education equivalent of a master’s degree in education, counseling, rehabilitation counseling, or counselor education; plus, two years of experience in counseling or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Must be a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in accordance with the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management
